Module 1&2 combined
Starting Monday 26th January evening 6-9pm
Basic Cake decorating Skills
- Learn the basic chemistry and different baking methods for cakes and soft icings...............how to prepare a cake, fill a cake decorate using different soft icing techniques - basic piping for borders, basket weave, lattice, basic piped flowers and modern butter icing techniques.
This is a 6 week course. R1080

Module 4 completing sugar flowers, classes resume Tuesday evening 27th 6-9pm

Module 5 - Wedding cakes commencing 10 February.
This course includes guidance on design, quoting, tasting sessions, delivery, and students will make and decorate a multi tiered wedding cake, using side decorative techniques including stenciling, swags, bows, drapes, lace, texture, cutwork and brushed embroidery.
This is a 6 week course R1080

Module 3 - commencing 9th March : Childrens novelty cakes: - students will learn to cover a cake in rolled icing and will complete a jungle cake (appliquet techniques), handbag, minion, Barbie, Car.

Figure Modeling: - Bride and groom, flower fairies, baby shower figurines, and a selection of animals

Workshops planned for the year - dates to be decided. these will be on selected saturday afternoons

- Typed notes with clear guidance and tutorials will be handed out at each class, please keep these in a suitable folder or flip file, and must be brought to class each week.
- When homework is required, please make sure that it is completed before the lesson.
- Only evening option are available – on Monday and Tuesdays -
- When working with food, you will be required to wear a hairnet and an apron during
class.
- A requirements list will be given to you at your first lesson, but all the equipment is available for purchase at the first class by arrangement, including hairnets and gloves,
- A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking for each module. The balance is payable before the commencement of the 1st lesson of each module.
- Certificates of attendance will be issued once all classes in a module have been completed, including home work / home projects.
